ECN is the largest research centre in the Netherlands in the field of energy. The centre develops high-level knowledge and technology for the transition to a sustainable energy system. Fields of interest are solar energy, wind energy, biomass, coal and environmental research, energy in the built environment, hydrogen and clean fossil fuels, energy efficiency in industry and policy studies.

European Drilling Services Netherlands (EDS) was established in 1999. The company specialises in providing directional drilling and MWD/LWD services to the international oil and gas industry. EDS stocks, supplies and maintains an extensive inventory of positive displacement motors, including the well-known ‘Black Max’ manufactured by NQL. Alongside specialist equipment, EDS can call upon an outstanding team of MWD/LWD operators, directional drillers and project management personnel. EDS also provides training for its own personnel and employees of other companies, for example in the field of directional drilling.

EnSaCo is an independent research and consulting company specialised since 1989 in environmental and safety issues with an emphasis on the marine environment. Specific target groups are the oil and gas industry, shipping companies, port authorities, governmental organisations and related companies. There is a regular exchange of knowledge and expertise between EnSaCo and various research, scientific and training institutes and a number of internationally acclaimed companies and experts. EnSaCo can be engaged for the following types of projects: feasibility studies, environmental and safety policy development, training seminars, contingency planning, development of environmental protection systems, offshore installation surveys, and environmental impact studies. EnSaCo is part of Technology Consultants BV.

Eriks has developed into a groundbreaking industrial service provider with a varied and high-end range of technical equipment. More than 500,000 different mechanical engineering articles are available on stock. Eriks purchases industrial components worldwide, and as a consequence can be considered a total supplier. Well-known products from the company include valves and instrumentation, hoses and appendages and seals. The company’s customers come from all industrial sectors, including the oil and gas industry, onshore and offshore. Eurest Support Services (ESS) is part of the Compass Group, world market leaders in food and support services. The group operates in more than 70 countries, including the Netherlands where, under the name Eurest Support Services, food services are provided to almost 1000 businesses, hospitals, schools, catering facilities and organisations, including government-run institutions. ESS also operates on specific markets, such as the offshore oil and gas industry. Initial experience with this sector was accrued in the Gulf of Mexico, but the company is now also active on the North Sea.
