Haven Den Helder

L. v.d. Wal en Zn BV has since the foundation on 29 May 1959 developed into a leading company that carries out new development and renovation projects throughout the entire region. Throughout the years the company has built numerous offices, workshops and storage facilities for businesses operating in the shipping and offshore industry. A well-known building is the ''Blauwe Paleis'' on the Paleiskade, the heart of the Offshore Service & Logistics Centre in Den Helder. The harbour collection installation on the Nieuwe Werk quay was also built by the company. L. v.d. Wal en Zn forms part of the Van der Wal Groep, which also consists of Van der Wal Beheer, Van der Wal Projectontwikkeling and the Helderse Betonmortel Centrale.

Den Helder-based Lubbers Transport is a division of Lubbers Logistics, headquartered in Schoonebeek, the Netherlands. The company started up as a regional road transport company in 1929 and has evolved to become a internationally-oriented logistic enterprise. Lubbers Transport is the most well-known division of Lubbers Logistics, carries both standard freight and exceptional loads and is specialised in haulage for the oil and gas industry. The company has been active in this field of activity for no less than 35 years.

For over forty years Luyt Machinefabriek and Luyt Dokbedrijf have worked for the fishing, offshore and shipbuilding industries. Operating as independent companies on the international market they produce winches, ship''s motors and aluminium boats. Other activities are ship repair and maintenance. Ships can moor directly ''at the front door''. In the port of Den Oever, Luyt Dokbedrijf has a ship lifting system at its disposal with a capacity of 500 tons. Dock, repair and maintenance work can be performed on ships with a total length of at least 40 metres. The Luyt Group is official Caterpillar dealer for main engines and generator sets for the shipping industry.
