Rederij Marsdiep started guard activities for the offshore industry and the cable-laying sector in 2007. The company operates a former fishing boat specially adapted and equipped for carrying out guard work. The vessel operates from the port of Den Helder.

The company established its reputation with the development and fabrication of an extensive range of products for the drilling sector. These products are used worldwide, and the best-known are the drill bits, including SteeringWheel® bits, Dura DiamondÔ bits, and TransFormation® bits. The company’s services also include performance analyses, for which a planned well programme has been developed. This is a tool for the identification of drilling cost reduction opportunities and performing operation time analyses.

Rent A Tube from Middenmeer is a subsidiary of Deep Drill Equipment BV, with offices at the same address. Rent A Tube specialises in the rental of Oil Country Tubular Goods and drilling equipment. As well as tubular couplings, this includes wellheads, pumps, protectors, etc. The company has considerable storage space with a warehouse where large quantities of tubulars and drilling equipment are kept on stock. Also thanks to the expertise provided by Deep Drill Equipment, requests from the drilling industry can always be rapidly fulfilled.

Reym, established in 1953, is a service provider operating nationally in the fields of industrial cleaning, tank transport and waste management. The company, with head offices in Amersfoort, employs more than 500 people. The business specialises in high-pressure and vacuum cleaning, and the chemical cleaning of coolers, vessels, columns and pipework. For the decontamination of offshore installations, contaminated with light radioactive products ( (LSA) and mercury, Reym has developed a special LSA container and a separator tank for mercury-bearing sludge. In Den Helder, Reym is regularly deployed to clean the cargo tanks of suppliers to the SNS Pool, and to collect and dispose of waste products from offshore vessels and offshore platforms.

In addition to the regular nautical courses for the shipping, fishing and offshore industries the Company Training Department of the ROC ''Kop van Noord-Holland'' organises a number of special courses. These include the basic course medical training (limited) and the basic course medical training (unlimited), refresh courses medical training, Marcom A, Marcom B, Radar Navigator SCTW''95 and Radar operator STCW''95. The safety training of the ROC ''Kop van Noord-Holland'' is carried out at DHTC in Den Helder.

The Maritime Academy of the ROC Kop van Noord-Holland organises a number of MBO (Intermediate vocational education) courses for people who would like to work on ships in the shipping, fishing and offshore industries. This means the courses for ship''s captain/engineer (limited work area), Merchant Navy officer small ships, Merchant Navy officer all ships, navigating officer, shipping mechanic SW6 and fishing officer. For the courses the Maritime Academy has the most modern simulators, including a radar simulator, a radio communication simulator, a fishing simulator and an engine room simulator.

In 2006 the ROC Kop van Noord-Holland in collaboration with Tetrix Bedrijfsopleidingen in Den Helder set up the Facilitair Centrum Offshoretechnniek (General and Technical Support Centre Offshore Technology). This is where numerous practical courses are given. Examples include the Oil/Gas Production course 1+2, Petroleum Installation course 1+2, Maintenance Technology course 1+2, Metal working/Assembly/Maintenance and Business Administration course 1+2. But also for the Draughtsman and Construction or Maintenance Technology 1+2 courses the centre is the ideal place. Tailor-made courses can also be organised.
