Haven Den Helder

Teamwork Technology was founded in 1993 by Hans van Breugel and Fred Gardner. Since that time, they have successfully implemented a number of special projects in the field of renewable energy. These include the Archimedes Wave Swing (AWS), a system with which electricity was successfully generated from ocean waves in 2004, at a location off the coast of Portugal, and the development of a special turbine for generating electricity from water currents (tidal energy). Other projects undertaken by Teamwork Technology include the development of wind turbines and a basic concept for the recycling of waste wood into high quality building material.

Tebunus Tube Nederland, together with Tebunus Tube Bending BV makes up the Tebunus Group, with offices in the Netherlands in Ursem (head office), Heerhugowaard and Eindhoven and in Les Platières in France. Tebunus Tube Nederland supplies seamless and welded heat exchanger and condenser tubes for the chemical and petrochemical industry. Sister company Tebunus Tube Bending, with whom collaboration is very close, specialises in the bending of tubes. The tubes in question are manufactured from carbon steel and stainless steel varieties, aluminium, copper and exotic materials.

Operating more than thirty years already, the Teerenstra company has become expert in gritblasting, anti-corrosion-treating, metallizing and painting ships, bridges, lock gates and steel structures. In addition, this firm is kept busy renovating concrete structures. For doing these jobs, Teerenstra uses both mobile and stationary equipment. At the seaport of Den Helder the company employs a fully covered spacious lock chamber. Inside this unique facility, steel structures or virtually any type of ship (be it an offshore vessel, a fishing boat, a seagoing vessel or an inland craft) can be gritblasted and corrosion-protected in an optimally environment-friendly manner.

TESO (Texel Eigen Stoomboot Onderneming) NV has been operating a ferry service between the island of Texel and Den Helder since 1907. The fleet consists of the brand-new ferry boat Dokter Wagemaker, delivered by Damen Shipyards in 2006 and named after the founder of the TESO, and the Schulpengat which has been in service since 1990. Both ferries meet the highest standards of safety and reliability. They are manned by experienced crews. The crossing time between Den Helder and Texel is approximately 20 minutes.

Tool Repair International was founded in 1994. The company specialises in welding and construction work, and the inspection, repair and maintenance of drilling tools. The work is carried out not only in the modern machine shop in Schagerbrug, but also on location, for example on various platforms on the North Sea. Well-known service companies that outsource in particular specialist welding work to Tool Repair International include Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford Oil Tool Nederland, Noble Drilling and Control Unit Testing and Inspection (CUTI).

With headquarters in The Hague, Total E&P Nederland is a subsidiary of the French Total Group. Since 1964, the company has been active on the Dutch Continental Shelf in the exploration and production of gas. It has a large shorebase in Den Helder and is a participant in the Southern North Sea (SNS) Pool. This is a vessel-sharing arrangement of eight operators active on the Dutch Continental Shelf. The SNS Pool operates at the Paleiskade in the seaport of Den Helder. Total E&P Nederland’s main objective is to continue to develop new gas resources on the Dutch Continental Shelf and to maintain its position as the second gas producer in the Netherlands.

Total Hydraulics, established 1996, has developed into a total supplier of components and systems in the field of hydraulics, pneumatics, drive and cleaning technology. The company also develops and sells its own products. In Heerhugowaard, Total Hydraulics has extensive facilities for the storage of spare parts, including cylinders, shut-off valves, pumps, coolers, filters, motors, connectors, valves, hoses and generator units, and for carrying out repair and maintenance work. To provide rapid service to its customers in the offshore and shipping industry, the company operates a number of service vehicles with experienced service engineers.
